Medical history was being made at 4 a.m. on May 28, 1934m when Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe arrived at the farm home of Oliva Dionne near Corbeil, Ont. Two of the famous quintuplets already had arrived. The others followed in succession so swiftly that there was no time to register them in order. Mr. Dionne was not at home. Said he later: "I'm the kind of fellow they should put in jail." This is one of the earliest pictures of the five babies with Mrs. Dionne, who was up and about in eleven days.
